Toronto
Toronto, the capital of the province of Ontario, is a major Canadian city along Lake Ontario’s northwestern shore.
It’s a dynamic metropolis with a core of soaring skyscrapers, all dwarfed by the iconic, free-standing CN Tower. Toronto also has many green spaces, from the orderly oval of Queen’s Park to 400-acre High Park and its trails, sports facilities and zoo.
After a recent post about poor transport links between the Toronto airport, I’m glad to report that there are confirmed plans to finally bridge the city and the airport, as Toronto Pearson Airport responds. New services will be introduced to move people more easily and comfortably to and from the airport. Toronto Pearson has been […]
British Airways has a dedicated lounge in Terminal 3 of Toronto Pearson International airport YYZ. Looking out at the airfield, have your pre-flight dinner or chill on one of the many plush chairs. In many ways, it is similar to that of the BA Galleries Lounge at Heathrow T5. As part of the ‘Sleeper Service’ from Toronto […]
As a fellow Canadian, I completely understand the hardships of weather patterns in Toronto Canada. In 2011 it’s proving to be an especially scorching summer, something that can’t be said about London England. In Toronto the swings of seasons are clear, hot summers, wet autumns, freezing winters and warm springs. Though ask any Canadian and […]
C’mon Toronto, have a good time in this buzzing city on the shores of Lake Ontario, one of the largest fresh body of water in the world that resembles an ocean more than a lake. Over 40% of the people of Toronto are not native Canadians. Toronto has the third largest percentage of immigrants in the […]
North America’s only castle, Casa Loma, is a Gothic Revival style house and gardens in midtown Toronto, Canada, that is now a museum and landmark. Constructed over a three-year period from 1911–1914, and designed by the architect E. J. Lennox, Casa Loma took more than 300 men and approximately $3.5 million to complete. At 98 […]
British Airways announces the arrival of the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner with routes to Toronto and Newark from September 2013. Though the BA website does have my scheduled flight listed as an operational flight, they cannot guarantee the aircraft I will be travelling on, but keeping my fingers crossed. The new Boeing 787 Dreamliner cabin interior […]
The Eaton Centre is Toronto‘s top tourist attraction with more than one million visitors per week. A multi-levelled, vaulted glass-ceiling shopping mall and office complex in downtown Toronto, Canada. Modelled after the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, Italy, and named after the now-defunct Eaton’s department store chain that once anchored it. Considered revolutionary at […]
A few years after it first opened its doors, Fishbar on Ossington Street in Toronto still delivers a fine catch and selection of seafood tapas. The menu reinvents seafood with unique combinations of ingredients that break with tradition. Seafood enthusiasts are certain to taste something new here. The grilled sardines with balsamic reduction and mint pesto […]
Pride Toronto, an annual event celebrating sexual diversity, the Gay Lesbian Bisexual Trans Gender Community, united in one goal, accepting who we are for what we are and for equal rights for all. “The state has no business in the bedrooms of the nation.” Pierre Elliott Trudeau Canada is one of the few places on the […]
A visit to Kensington Market is like a sensory trip around the world. During the 1920s, it was known as the Jewish Market. Today, you can sense the city’s rich, multicultural mix, obvious in the shops packed with goods from Europe, the Caribbean, the Middle East, South America and Asia. It’s also a treasure trove […]
Tastes and traditions of Portuguese pastries and bread. A family-owned and operated business, established in 1991, Nova Era Bakery is one of the early bakeries in Toronto to offer European-style coffee, bread and pastries to the growing Portuguese community. Maintaining traditional methods of daily handmade, freshly baked bread and pastries, from the famed Portuguese pastel de […]
There are cities in the world you enjoy arriving, knowing that when you get there you’ll shuttle through and out of the airport efficiently on your way but there are poor transport links for Toronto Airport. In the case of Toronto Pearson International Airport, a visitor will struggle to find a cheap alternative to get […]
Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel is in a great location and within walking distance from transport and most attractions in the Toronto city centre. The views are amazing too if you you have a view of the city hall. The room was spacious and the bed outstanding – the sleep quality was top marks!! The guest rooms […]
A nostalgic diner with a cool vibe, in business since 1944. The Avenue Diner maintains a loyal clientele, despite being unlicensed and open no later than 4 p.m. Located in the Yorkville and Annex area of downtown Toronto by Davenport Road and Avenue Road, it has an open setting that lets you see your meal being […]
The Mendonca Family day happens every return to Toronto, approximately every two years, united to see me and to see each other. Having edited this, it clearly demonstrated the wild and crazy nature of the Mendonca Family. It starts calm, but as each member arrives, it gets louder and crazier. I can’t complain, its family, […]
