Fortaleza Hotel Galle is a historic well maintained and a very good place to stay while in Galle – Sri Lanka, excellent service and fantastic setting.
With only 4 rooms this historic and well-kept hotel/boutique/B&B is stunning! Superb rooms very well kept and nicely designed, comfort and styled and feel like home! The room was spacious with a window seating area, a netted bed, and nicely appointed bathroom. Featuring four-poster beds with mosquito nets, air-conditioned rooms include a fan, clothes rack, a personal safe and ironing facilities. The en suite bathroom comes with shower facility, towels and free toiletries.
The bathroom is very nice, however, one must note that hot water does not last very long, due to building restrictions water tanks are not allowed, therefore hot water last for short time, so quick showers are in order here.
Regardless, the place is just amazing in every way. The terrace courtyard restaurant has excellent food and drinks too (trust me, alcohol is not easy to come by in Sri Lanka). The restaurant serves a delectable spread of Eastern, Western and Continental cuisine. A wide range of drinks can also be ordered from the bar.
Strategically located within the Galle Fort, which is small and easy to explore all in a day, and by night there is little to do as the down quickly winds down after 9 pm.
At Fortaleza Hotel Galle, it is more like returning home, with free Wi-Fi access provided throughout the property.
Galle Railway Station is 0.6 miles away, while Unawatuna town is approximately a 3.7 miles drive.
