Park Inn Radisson Muscat is conveniently located near the airport and makes for a good base for visiting Muscat.

Arriving at the hotel it sits and appears isolated at a cross-section of a roadway with little by either side. A short dusty stroll leads you to the Muscat Mall in one direction, and in the opposite way to a residential area with a few apartment buildings, a beautiful mosque and a choice of eating places.

Like anywhere in Muscat, getting around is only by taxi, which is always available just outside its doors, with clear rates posted on a sign so you’ll always know how much it will cost.

The rooms are large and spacious, the hotel is smart and chic, and the service was exceptional. They did all they could to help and were very involved in my well being.

Wireless Internet access is complimentary but I found the signal weak at times, but this is an issue I found in most Middle East hotels, consider using VPN to work better as there is some type of state censorship when it comes to the internet.

Park Inn by Radisson Muscat has an outdoor pool and a terrace on the rooftop, a health club, and a steam room.  The hotel offers 2 restaurants along with a poolside bar, which is open only in the evenings and on weekends has a DJ but is a good spot to look out at Muscat and enjoy a beer or some cocktail.

It was the level of service that impressed me the most. Though it can feel a little out of the way, so are the other hotels in Muscat, and regardless where you stay you’ll end up taking a taxi or private transport to where you’re going.  But the Park Inn by Radisson Muscat was an excellent choice.
