Anantamaa Hotel is tucked away in Uppuveli near Trincomalee, just steps away from the beach.
The hotel has 28 rooms that include air conditioning, a private terrace and tea/coffee making facilities. Modern en suite bathrooms come with a bathtub or shower, hairdryer and toiletries. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel. The room was very simple and modern, looks like lots of thought went into designing the rooms.
Anantamaa Hotel has a beautiful garden and pool area. The grounds are well kept, and a walkway leads you towards the beachfront. Outdoor patio or balcony are welcome, as the area is quiet and rural, this is for outdoor relaxation. The on-site peacock is very friendly and after a few days you can’t help but greet it daily.
Staff can arrange for water-sport activities including diving, snorkelling and fishing, including trips to Pigeon Island.
The on-site buffet restaurant serves authentic Sri Lankan, Indian and Western cuisines, and found the food very good quality. The curry was my favourite!
Anantamaa Hotel was a great choice for Uppuveli, and the whole hotel grounds and rooms make staying here more like a resort than a common hotel.
