Just 100 metres from the entrance gate to Petra, the Petra Moon Hotel features spacious rooms with flat-screen TVs, a roof terrace with a seasonal outdoor pool.
The room was modern and updated, clean and bright. I was fortunate to also have a seating area with a small table. A mini-fridge with refreshments is included in the stay, an attendant returns daily to replenish the water and soda, which was a nice touch of service.
With a comfortable bed, and wi-fi available in the room, it worked perfectly for exploring the great ancient city of Petra. The roof-top pool looked appealing but I wasn’t so fortunate with the weather, instead of finding it too cool for a dip.
I liked the special touch of finding a fruit basket along with an envelope addressed to me from the manager welcoming to the hotel, the included drinks (no alcohol) in the fridge is a welcome extra after a long day walking the sites of Petra.
The only downside of my room was the bathroom was a little dark and the shower hard to control, new showerheads would be recommended but this didn’t ruin my stay.
Guests can enjoy a buffet breakfast in the restaurant. Local and international meals are available for lunch and dinner. Car rentals or transfers can be arranged by the staff at Petra Moon but this may cost you more than haggling a taxi on the street.
The Petra Moon Hotel is an excellent choice and great value compared to the high-end hotel options in the same vicinity.
