The Red Coco Inn is just a 9-minute walk from the beach on a busy main road in the middle of Boracay.
If you are travelling on a budget the Red Coco Inn de Boracay features cosy accommodation with a pool at the property, but you are better swimming the glorious waters of Boracay. Free daily breakfast is provided, but nothing to rave about. All rooms have a fridge, flat-screen cable TV, work desk and en suite bathroom.
The deluxe room was an excellent size with a balcony that looks no-where but at least some outdoor space. The bathroom was nice and modern. It has a nice pool area at the back, but with the white beach with powdered sand nearby this was more a good chill-out area.
If you need to be connected to Wifi to work remotely don’t count on it (this goes with the most of the Philippines, particularly Palawan). The connection was stable in the lobby most times but failed miserably in the room. After raising the issue this was resolved and they went beyond expectations to correct it.
Breakfast was barely edible, the steamed rice was the only real decent option, the selection changed from day to day, but the food was poor overall, the best option is ordering eggs to your liking.
The staff at the Red Coco Inn are friendly and helpful, as are people of the Philippines.
They did go out of the way to fix things that went wrong, and in the end I was well satisfied by my stay.
Note that the Red Coco Inn is part of the Red Coconut Hotel directly on the beach, which guests have access to the lounge and beach chairs at the parent property, but pictures on the website show both properties and can be misleading.
A budget hotel it was, and excellent rooms. The staff try their best to help you, but unreliable wifi and connections, poor breakfast selection was a real let down. In the end, I enjoyed it because of the people of the Red Coco Inn.
