On the edge of the desert at Ouarzazate on a setting of natural beauty, Hotel RIAD KSAR IGHNDA opens its doors for you onto the Atlas Mountains.

I stopped here on the Road to Desert • Morocco to have lunch after visiting the UNESCO listed site of Aït Benhaddou nearby.

In the village of Aït Benhaddou, you will come across Berbers, local artisans and discover typical local crafts.

I didn’t stay the night, but was very impressed how it blended with the local environment and offered all the luxurious and modern place that resembled more like a palace than a hotel or riad.

With 41 rooms, with modern comforts including private bathroom, air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar, traditional furniture, artworks and the magnificent desert view.

The HOTEL KSAR IGHNDA offers a unique spa experience with a hammam and a hot tub as well, something I didn’t get the chance to fully enjoy as I was only here for lunch.

Their website says guests do not arrive at HOTEL KSAR IGHNDA by chance (as I wouldn’t have imagined such luxury in such an isolated and beautiful setting,) but guests long to return here – I would love to spend a night here under a star-filled night sky.
