Hotel Xaluca Dades is a 4-star hotel in Boumalne Dades, located just 20 km from Gorges du Dades.
With 118 rooms comes the challenge of meeting guest levels of hospitality, however, the Hotel Xaluca Dades offers spectacular views of the Dades Valley, but offers little nearby of any interest that is within walking distance.
You will likely stay here if you are on the Road to Desert or returning from the desert.
Nice rooms with views. Decorated with an African theme throughout, the guest rooms were of a very good size, with a balcony overlooking the town or valley. The decor was quirky light switches and tacky wall art. Exposed stone walls and Moroccan décor are offered in the rooms and suites. All accommodation has views of the Dades Valley and the suites have a terrace.
With free WiFi throughout and no passwords to enter, it wasn’t entirely a simple process as each zone or floor required another login, so the pool, restaurant and bar areas all would require separate logins rather than just keeping you connected throughout.
The restaurant is on the same level as the pool, but the dining and breakfast was limiting and unexciting. Food not exceptional – but basic and simple. This is ‘safe’ food which caters to large groups and served in a buffet where you assemble your own plates.
Dark bar with service levels not as attentive as a personalised full service, but the place was empty. A complicated billing to room service with what seemed like a paperwork chase.
Nice outdoor pool with spectacular views of the valley below makes a great place to sit and watch the sunset.
Nearby is the Gorges du Dades and Monkeys Paws (Monkey Fingers) moutain range.
Four star it is not.
The expected level of a hotel in this category of more than 50 rooms. However beautiful the view and comfort matched expectations, the service was minimal and complicated at times. As you are likely to stay only one night, it isn’t a bad break from being on the road all day, however, I wouldn’t suggest longer stays.
