A business-friendly hotel, NH Barcelona Diagonal Center is a stylish design hotel in the Poblenou district of Barcelona, just 15-minute walk from the beach.
I really liked this hotel, it was clean and spacious, however, there were some things that didn’t score high with me. Though great value for the hotel, the area lacks conveniences for visitors, as this was once a thriving industrial zone in transition.
All rooms at NH Barcelona Diagonal Center feature parquet flooring and stylish décor with contemporary furnishings. They are equipped with an LCD TV with satellite channels. The private bathroom includes toiletries and a hairdryer. This hotel features a 24-hour reception desk and a business centre. Rooms and facilities are adapted for disabled guests. There is free Wi-Fi throughout. The hotel serves a buffet breakfast and room service is also available.
Wifi included, but flaky and not the easiest to use with renewal every 24 hours (or less) as it is supplied by Swisscom, however, I found the activation number rarely lasted for 12 hours, so collect multiple login cards from the front desk as a back-up or you will find yourself visiting the lobby more often than you would like to.
An issue I found was the poor housekeeping, my room was not done when returned at 6 pm, and then again on my 4th day when I entered my room after 4 pm, despite placing a ‘green’ sign on the door to signal it was safe to enter. I would expect this to maybe happen the once but lowers my score when it was repeated.
Bogatell metro station is just 350 metres away and will take visitors to Passeig de Gràcia Avenue in 25 minutes. Glòries shopping centre is a 10-minute walk away. Barcelona International Airport is about 18 km away, but the airport shuttle is a very reasonable price considering pick-up and drop-off.
Overall I’m mixed on the NH Barcelona Diagonal Center, I found the facilities and rooms of high standards, but let down in service in regards to ease of use of wifi and housekeeping. In regards to value, it does deliver but needs a little more attention to detail.
